Purpose

The department ‘Information and Communications Technologies and Radio-Electronic Means’ was established within the Faculty of Information Systems and Technologies on basis of the order of the Head of Ulyanovsk State Technical University dated from December 06, 2010, according to a cooperation agreement between Ulyanovsk State Technical University and RPA ‘Mars’ dated from June 21, 2010.

The purpose of its creation is to train specialists in the field of development of hardware and software for C2 systems.

Education

The educational process is carried out in a specialized group which is formed by students of the Faculty of Information Systems and Technologies, department ‘Computer Engineering’, and those of the Radio-Engineering Faculty, department ‘Radio-Engineering’, starting from the 4th year of the education (specialist’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees).

To organize the educational process, the optional disciplines of the departments ‘Computer Engineering’ and ‘Radio-Engineering’ were amended as per the needs of RPA ‘Mars’.

The 3rd Year (Bachelor’s Programme):

  • – Database Publishing in Internet;
  • – Fundamental XML-Technologies.

The 4th Year (Bachelor’s Programme):

  • – Platform-independent Programming;
  • – CASE-Tools in Software Engineering.

The 1st Year (Master’s Degree Programme):

  • – XML-Data Software Processing;
  • – Application-specific Enterprise Information Systems.

The 2nd Year (Master’s Degree Programme):

  • – Theory of Computer-Aided System Simulation;
  • – Fundamental Service-oriented Architecture.

The education will be carried out by the instruction according to the above special courses, through a practical work using the ‘Mars’ equipment, term papers, degree theses, bachelor's and master's theses within the consolidated group of the students of the Faculty of Information Systems and Technologies.
